Wilson Prostaff Classic 6.1 |
It is very head-light, and also quite flexy - some of the stiffness figures I've seen don't look right, this would rate in the low sixties.
I have to confess to giving up on this stick; it gave me no power on the serve, even with a little weight at 3 and 9, which did wonders on my very similarly-weighted (and brilliant but fragile) Prostaff ROK. It also seems to get stiffer if you swing it faster - maybe thats the kevlar.
Nice off the ground, but my Ntour does that too, and everything else a lot better. maybe the should have a label "Grasscourt Use Only".
Have you tried the stretch version? If you like the pop of the 27.5" PS 5.0 you'll probably like the pop in the 28" PSC 6.1 compared to regular length....
ReplyDeleteInteresting idea! I get the feeling from the widely varying opinions on how the PS 6.1 behaves that they may vary a bit between versions anyway("White Cap" vs "Black Cap", etc) - I've got a mate who keeps going back to his 6.1,so I might borrow it and see how close it is to mine.
ReplyDeleteUpdate time. Been a love / hate affair with my PSC 6.1s (regular & stretch) since posting above, possibly the heavy/dense feel of the stick either means you are on target and sweep matches with ease, or you suffer indifference trying to find your rhythm &, hence, lose more often than not ...
